While working from home is either something people love or hate, it’s certain that we’ve all seen a little too much of the same four walls over the past few months.
Sometimes a change of scenery (and a cup of coffee) is all it takes to boost creativity and productivity, so we’ve compiled a list of our favourite coffee shops for remote working in and around Swindon.
We’re incredibly happy to see the town opening up again and as well as some long time favourites, there are a couple of newer establishments we think you’ll enjoy.
Whether you need somewhere without distractions or a safe place to hold meetings, Swindon has some fantastic coffee shops where you can get your head down to some work while a trained barista keeps you fuelled on food and drink.
The Core - 4 Devizes Rd, Swindon SN1 4BJ
In the heart of the Old Town, The Core has been powering Swindon’s creatives and remote workers with superfoods and smoothies since 2013.
Head to their juice bar to recharge with all-day brunch or a Morning Sunshine breakfast smoothie.
Just what we needed. Open 8am-1pm weekdays, 8am-2pm Saturdays.

And if you’re not quite ready to leave the (home) office, you can try out this local takeaway offering to beat the afternoon slump:
Darkroom Espresso - 11 Faringdon Road, Swindon, SN1 5AR
Known for their speciality coffee, Darkroom Espresso are also serving iced teas and hot chocolates to take away.
Treat yourself to a cold brew on a warm summer’s day or, if you’re a fan of Ray’s ice cream, you’ll find a new collaboration with this local favourite also on the menu.
Perhaps the only way to keep you going through that client meeting on a Friday afternoon…
Open for takeaway only on weekdays 7:30 am-3 pm, Saturdays 9 am-4 pm and Sundays 10 am-4 pm.
Find out more and check out their online shop here - www.darkroomespresso.com
A quick shoutout to… It’s a tough time particularly for local businesses right now and we’re sorry not everyone is able to reopen in the same way as before.
Baila Coffee & Vinyl - 85 Victoria Rd, Swindon SN1 3BB
Although a pre-lockdown haunt for local coffee lovers too, Baila has currently reopened for evening dining and cocktails only, so it’s the place to go and relax after a hard day in (or out) the office.
Check their Facebook page for regular updates - https://www.facebook.com/bailacoffeeandvinyl/
As everyone’s still adapting to the new normal right now, we’d advise double-checking the website or social media pages of these businesses before planning to meet there.
Some may require you to book in advance.
