Space for 10 - The WorkShed

When we can all go back to work will you fancy a change of scene?

The Space for 10 interviews are designed to showcase the variety of spaces we have in Swindon and the surrounding areas for companies of all sizes and specialities.

For this interview we spoke to Jolyon Rose at The Workshed to find out more about the space he manages;

  1. Where are you?

Swindon, Railway Village/Great Western Works

  1. How would you describe your space?

Tip-top renovated carriage works; designed and built by Brunel for another industrial revolution, located and equipped for the new digital explosion.

  1. Who will I meet there?

Entrepreneurs, digital geeks and business people, planners, schemers and dreamers.

  1. Can I bring my team?

Get on over! Offices for one or two up to 10 or 15; loads of co-working areas, chill-out and break-out spaces and more.

  1. Is there somewhere for me to meet clients?

We call ‘em meeting rooms, but there are lots of informal spaces, kitchens, pods and hideaways for something less formal.

  1. Do you run any events?

Yep. Networking, UX, Agile, Founder, SwinTech, SoFar Sounds, and a fine Christmas party.

  1. What are the perks?

No minimum licence period, easy-in/easy-out agreements, all-incl. prices with bills and 1Gig internet, 24/7 and flexible access arrangement; a stone’s throw from the train station and massive car parks.

  1. What makes your space different?

Workshed is a chunk of industrial heritage, sitting on a key transport node between London, Bristol, east and west, Le Havre and Penrith. Kitted out for start-ups, young and high-growth digital businesses, it’s a place where connection and collaboration are at the core.

  1. How much is it to be based there?

Co-working packages start at £75/month, offices from £600/month.
